Connor McDavid

Team Canada Athlete, Ice Hockey​

Connor McDavid is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. McDavid has represented Canada at two IIHF World Championships. With Canada’s gold medal in 2016, he became (at age 19) the youngest player to win gold at the U18 World Championship, U20 World Championship, and World Championship. McDavid was selected first overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was named team captain just before the 2016-17 season, becoming the youngest captain in NHL history at 19 years and 266 days. McDavid won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024.

Cynthia Appiah

Olympian, Bobsleigh

Appiah made her World Cup debut in January 2016 in an all-woman four-man sled. During the 2016-17 season, Appiah began competing in the two-woman event on the World Cup circuit and won gold in her first race in Whistler in December. She also spent time in Rissling’s sled, which included a sixth-place finish at the world championships and a bronze at the Olympic test event for PyeongChang 2018. In her first world championships as a pilot in 2021, Appiah was the top Canadian pilot in the monobob and two-woman races. During the 2021-22 season, Appiah reached the podium in four of seven monobob races at the World Cup level and never placed lower than fifth to rank her third in the overall standings.

Mikaël Kingsbury

Olympian, Mogul Skiing

Heading into the 2025-26 season, Kingsbury has amassed 99 World Cup victories, 142 World Cup podiums, and 29 Crystal Globes. From 2011-12 to 2019-20 he won nine straight Crystal Globes as the overall World Cup champion for all of freestyle skiing. From 2021-22 to 2024-25 he won four straight Crystal Globes as the overall World Cup champion for moguls/dual moguls combined. Kingsbury has reached the podium in all but one of his 16 career starts at the FIS World Championships. He is a nine-time world champion to go with his four silver and two bronze medals. His 15 world championship podiums as well as his nine world titles are both records in freestyle skiing. At three straight world championships in 2019, 2021, and 2023, Kingsbury won both the moguls and dual moguls events.  He has never missed the moguls podium at the world championships.

Natalie Spooner

Olympian, Ice Hockey​

Natalie Spooner competed in her first Olympic Games at Sochi 2014 where she scored the first two goals in Canada’s 3-1 semifinal victory over Switzerland en route to the gold medal. She was also a member of Canada’s silver medal-winning squad at PyeongChang 2018. In her third Olympic appearance at Beijing 2022, Spooner recorded three goals and 11 assists as she helped Canada win another gold medal. A member of the national team program since 2007, Spooner is the first player to compete for the National Women’s Team, the National Women’s U-22 Team and the National Women’s U-18 Team.

Tyler McGregor

Paralympian, ​ Para Sled Hockey

Tyler McGregor has emerged as one of Canada’s most respected leaders in hockey, both on and off the ice. In late 2024, Hockey Canada named him to its new National Team Athlete Committee, reflecting his influence in sport and advocacy. That same year, he captained Canada to its first World Para Ice Hockey Championship title in seven years. A fixture on the national team since 2012, McGregor has collected three world titles (2013, 2017, 2024), Paralympic silver medals in 2018 and 2022, and a bronze in 2014. Highlights include scoring two goals in 13 seconds in the 2017 world final and ranking third in scoring at the 2018 Paralympics. He became captain in 2019.

Jordan Pierre-Gilles

Olympian, Speed Skating​

Jordan Pierre-Gilles made his Olympic debut at Beijing 2022 where he was a member of the men’s 5000m relay team that won the gold medal. Pierre-Gilles represented Canada internationally for the first time at four World Cup stops during the 2019-20 season. He skated primarily in the 500m and 1000m but won his first World Cup medal with the mixed relay team that took bronze in Shanghai. He capped the season by winning gold with the men’s 5000m relay team at the World Cup finale in Dordrecht.
