TARVIN TOUNE

Starting his musical career with the band CBA (Critical Black Altitude) before going solo, Tarvin Toune has become a fan favourite of the local music scene. Hailing from Bougainville, with roots in Gulf and New Ireland Provinces, Tarvin grew up surrounded by the rhythms of island life, which shaped his sound and musical style from a young age.

Delivering his songs in his unique Ragga Muffin style, Tarvin is known from Port Moresby to the provinces as one of PNG’s premier Reggae artists. Having collaborated with some of PNG’s biggest artists, including- Saii Kay and Jarahn, his music, often filled with island-inspired rhythms and conscious lyrics, speaks to his experiences and the struggles of everyday life in Papua New Guinea. We’ll be hearing a lot more from and about Tarvin Toune in the years to come.
